On Sunday, October 30, 2005, the paso finos at Hillside Farms were the trusty steeds
for the Zorros. Hillside Farms had its annual Buffalo Bonanza Autumn Festival and
almost 300 people came to take a hay ride through the buffalo pasture, take a surrey
ride with Bonnie the Clydesdale, eat buffalo burgers and dogs and see the paso finos
on display. We had many compliments on our beautiful horses and were asked many
questions on their smooth gait. Alas, we were waiting for Antonio Banderas to
arrive but evidently he had other plans!

This is how Bonnie Austin and Siempre Viva de Santa Ana (or Xena as she is called at
home) spent their Halloween. They attended the Southern Wayne Trail Riders
Association Fun Day and came home with a handful of ribbons. Xena wore her witch's
hat all day and won the Egg and Spoon Race, placed second in the Musical Sacks and
Scurry Race which had two little jumps, around a pole and back over the two jumps.
As you can see from the picture, Xena never missed a beat. Bonnie and Xena also
took a second in the Barrels and won the Backing Up Race hands down. Most of the
other horses were still at the start and Xena had already backed up the length of
the arena. Congratulations to Bonnie and Xena - what a team!
